Default A Random Question About A Grave Paradox

Ok, almost everyone knows about the Isle of the Nameless, right? The place where you can test certain builds, learn about the game, and track down certain things for Guildwiki. :P

Well, let me start with a story. I just finished microwaving a burrito, when I had I stumbled upon this paradox. If the Zaishen can make a 100 armor out of bags and wood, why doesn't everyone just wear bags and wood? Unless of course every NPC is as wannabe fashion elitist as people with FoW. Good story, right?

After all, the Zaishen are acolytes of Balthazar, aren't they? So why wouldn't they want to provide cheap and perfect armor? This is my suggestion, why not make the different armors look somewhat durable? The 60 armor can stay the way it is. After all, they're only squishies. The 80 armor could be somewhat along the lines of an iron chainmail, and the 100 armor could be a rock. Ok, maybe it could be a steel plate.

I guess this is more of a suggestion, but discuss! By the way, it was bean and beef.

There are NPCs with conditions that continuously re-apply, and all act like disease in that you can get inflicted by the condition no matter what it is just by standing near the NPC. So, I want those skills! I mean, how cool would it be to have the blindness one as a monk, or the daze one as a warrior - OMGZWOW!

To add some rationality before the spam kills the thread:

A suit of armour has to protect while still allowing mobility. This means having to keep the weight low, allowing gliding joints and so on.

An immobile target dummy needs not move nor does it care about the weight of the armor, and can thus be well armored.

If you were a police officer, and you needed something bullet-proof to wear would you wear a load of bricks, stringed together, hanging from your shoulders, or a nice convenient bulletproof vest? It's not only aesthetics, it's about comfort, convenience and usefulness as well.

Consider the Elementalist. Would she look as hawt in a pile of wood and sacks? Of course not, it would also scratch her, and give her splinters. It would be heavier than normal armor and weigh her down.

Overall, armor is designed to be convenient, useful and comfortable, not just practical.

Hmm, a flour tortilla is made out of flour and water. Why didn't you just eat the flour and drink the water?

Same reasoning applies to bags and wood. They gotta be mixed in the right proportions to get a tasty armour. Er, effective armour.
